Yorkes Geocaching – Day 0

Well the 4WD was loaded up with the Roof Top tent and 3:30pm on Friday meant POETS time (piss off early tomorrows Saturday), so grabbed some TOIL and headed north chasing the sunshine towards Port Wakefield.

Even though the sun was shining, there was plenty of wind and some foreboding storm clouds off to the west. Once I cleared the metro area the going was good picking up 6 caches before the sun had set.

At Price, there was a cache that was tide dependant and luckily the tide was out so it was an easy find. I continued heading down the Yorke Peninsula as the rain started to pelt down.

The roads were getting slippery and muddy as I was now venturing out onto the dirt roads to grab some caches. Every now and again I headed back to the coast grabbing caches in Ardrossan before calling it a night at Pine Point.

There was a lot of activity at the local hall – it was their Bushfire Awareness night (no chance of a bushfire in this weather :-)).

I grabbed a on-site caravan at the Pine Point Caravan Park – there was no way I was going to camp out in the weather this night. Once the hall had cleared out I was the only one staying at the caravan park.

Bradley’s Snow Trip – Friday 20th

These are my entries from Facebook for those that aren’t my “friends”:

18:16 Woke up at 6:15 today and had to pack up my gear along with everyone else. Instead of putting mine in the TV room i put it in the lounge to separate it from the others. For breakfast i had pancakes with honey a hash-brown and an apple. The snow today was perfect apart from some icy or powdery patches, although the same could not be said for the weather

After our last skiing lesson with Josef, Harry and I went out skiing on our own, mainly down home trail and last hoot. For lunch i had a beef samige with lettuce tomato cucumber and cheese. After lunch a group of about 12 of us all went out skiing for our last day together, mainly on fox trail and drovers terrain park, with some amazing stacks, *cough* Zoe *cough*

At 2:30 we all returned to Halleys for the last time, everyone except me returning their skis and heading to the bus with their bags. I took Shannons lost boots to him at the bus stop before saying goodbye to everyone, then heading back up the hill for another week in the snow.

Ankles sore from a week of skiing, now i got a weekend to relax before more skiing for work experience

20:29 Just cooked myself 2 chicken snags with pasta and salad with a fruit and jelly cup for desert, but because i can’t connect my phone to my computer or facebook i cant upload the pictures :/
