11:51 The snow has been falling all week and the powder is deeper than me and then some. Makes it impossible to ski back to the lodge without having to swim through 2m snow

16:13 Reportedly the best snow in 8 years for falls. Fox trail is about 1 metre higher than usual and took several runs to make it even skiable through the powder.

22:00 My group was skiing past an American snowboarder when one kid cut him off. He then did a perfect John McInroe “You can not be serious!”

Tummy’s rumbling, lunch time!

16:34 Snow was epic today. Best runs were Last Hoot and Milky Way (run under Falls Express). First ever stack for 2010. Was at the top of Milky way and hit some powder which flipped me sideways down the hill. Landing was soft though 😛 Just before that on the previous Milky Way run I hit a huge lump at high speed, getting ma…ssive air and landing upright in a huge pile of powder and skiing off as usual

19:44 Annoying how it takes longer to prepare and clean up a meal, than it does to actually eat it

20:06 There is absolutely nothing to do here after the lifts are closed and tea is eaten

18:16 Woke up at 6:15 today and had to pack up my gear along with everyone else. Instead of putting mine in the TV room i put it in the lounge to separate it from the others. For breakfast i had pancakes with honey a hash-brown and an apple. The snow today was perfect apart from some icy or powdery patches, although the same could not be said for the weather

After our last skiing lesson with Josef, Harry and I went out skiing on our own, mainly down home trail and last hoot. For lunch i had a beef samige with lettuce tomato cucumber and cheese. After lunch a group of about 12 of us all went out skiing for our last day together, mainly on fox trail and drovers terrain park, with some amazing stacks, *cough* Zoe *cough*

At 2:30 we all returned to Halleys for the last time, everyone except me returning their skis and heading to the bus with their bags. I took Shannons lost boots to him at the bus stop before saying goodbye to everyone, then heading back up the hill for another week in the snow.

Ankles sore from a week of skiing, now i got a weekend to relax before more skiing for work experience

20:29 Just cooked myself 2 chicken snags with pasta and salad with a fruit and jelly cup for desert, but because i can’t connect my phone to my computer or facebook i cant upload the pictures :/

11:30  Again the alarms didn’t wake me up so Mr. Connell had to at 6:55 again. Had breakfast of sausages, french toast and a banana. Only a few of us got our gear on due to conditions this morning. Wind speeds of 100km/h had stopped all the lifts but two. We waited and waited for Falls express to open, then retreated back to the lodge and buried Shannon in snow.

Talked to the teachers about going to the summit but they rejected it due to safety concerns. Went inside to see half the lodge going to the village and half staying behind to clean the sticky plastic strips the teachers used to identify us on the mountain off our helmets. It was sticky as hell and took a long time to… get it off. As i was doing that i had some more noodles… ?

…Halfway through cleaning my helmet the rest of us got dressed into warm clothes and left the lodge too. We waited at the shuttle bus stop and it took 3 turns for us all to get there. Once there i met up with Shannon, Josh, Moses, Harry, Pat and we all went down the gullty chairlift to a shop. A little MILO kid who w…as going up on the other side asked us why we were going down, all i could say was ‘i dont know’…

?…After finding some Pete the snowdragon slippers for 15 bucks which were too small we went back up and paid out the skiers falling down on the run beneath us, and there were a lot of them. After surviving a snowball ambush at the top of the lift our group met up with Kettle, Richo, Beth, Jevan and Jordan and had a ma…ssive tackling and snowb all fight on top of a small snowy ridge…

?…It was fun tumbling and sliding down the ledge, but after a while it was time to go back to the lodge for lunch, where i found that someone had finished cleaning my helmet.

19:30  Lunch today was baguettes and after that we all had to make our way to the only available run, final muster and the only available lift, the gully. Both are terrible for skiing usually but today everyone was using them and they were crowded with beginners fallen over and the lift queue was crowded with those lucky enou…gh to survive it. Today for our lesson we had Neil instead of the usual Josef…

Lesson was good and skiing the run was ok, but i think we skied it around 10 times before returning to the lodge for the night. When I got there i had to hunt down ms constantopolous for my lift pass which she’d picked u from a shop which i’d dropped it at. Then i watched Tomb Raider with some other people until tea. For tea we had chicken parmageanas, potato bake, mashed pumpkin (I think) and beans…

?…I didn’t eat the beans and parme (because of intolerance). Instead i spent around 20 minutes measuring out tiny milk packs and hot water to mix with the pasta pack which took a long time to actually heat up and absorb it. I then sat in the movie room again and continued watching tomb raider with the others until the… meeting. The meeting discussed how we would be moving out tomorrow, and wasn’t too relevant to me

22:00   After the meeting we did some more planning of the prank and decided to can the idea of the ‘dead’ bodies out the window, and go with the plan of showing them around the room being heaps suss, then when we opened the door as if to pull the prank, someone would blast them with an airhorn. We then sat down to watch ‘Clash of the Titans’ and never pull the prank and lose inspection to the girls by 1 point

13:30  Woke up at 6:20 for no reason and stayed half asleep until 6:50. Breakfast for me was a piece of jam toast, a bowl of coco pops and an apple. Hit the slopes to find winds of around 50km/h. Powder was being whipped up into the air and stinging our faces as gale force winds rocked the chairlifts and made trying to move on flat land near impossible. Got back for lunch and brought all my gear back to lodge because of rumors the lifts would close. Had to have lunch early because Mt. Barker high was also using Halleys lodge for lunch. We all had burgers then piled out as the mt barker kids came in for their turn. After lunch there was an announcement from Sam that th…e only lifts open would be Towers and Falls Express. It is extremely windy and snow is falling thick and fast

20:30  Decided not to go out for the second half of today due to winds and snow, but those who did said the snow was great as it was soft and easy to ski on. Spent most of the day playing cards and mucking around at the lodge before going to the shops for pasta packs and 2min noodles. Had one of the packs of noodles, finding …a spoon to eat it with halfway through it. Everyone got back we had our dinner of fish and wedges.

Lots more planning for todays prank. Spent quite a lot of time rehearsing it. When Jordan heard the teachers coming he would knock on the door to let us know and turn on the shower, then Harry showed them into the room and we turned off the shower. harry then showed the teachers Shannon and Jevan’s room, then they got …to the bathroom and Harry said ‘is that a pass?’ signaling Shannon to open the bathroom door… ?…wearing nothing but a towel with undies underneath, with wet hair and chest and saying ‘We’re just rying to conserve water’ and walking out into his room, followed by Me, Jevan, Josh, Richo and Kettle, all wet and in towels into his room. We then closed the door to the teachers in hysterics, and another prank was fulfilled. Tomorrow will require even more planning to pull off, but will be a grand finale

21:30  Had a quiz night, ou table came equal second. We were called ‘the Jewmobile’ and our rivals were ‘Rulul’. I won a bag of chocolates for my table purely for letting the teachers use my laptop and another for our table coming second.

07:18  Neither of our alarms went off this morning for some reason, but we blame Matt. Had 5 minutes after Mr. Connell woke us up to get to breakfast. I had jam on toast and bacon but others had spaghetti from a can and eggs (which were runny). 15 minutes until the days skiing starts and i plan to take a group of around 5 skier…s and boarders to the summit and take them on the wishing well

16:24  Had my first lesson for the week with Josef who was always trying to push us over. We went on the summit and most of us survived except Bec and Molly who had to slide down on their bums. Skied around with about 10 people around Highway 83, Main street and fox trail until lunch. Took last hoot back to the lodge and had pizza-toast for lunch. After lunch me and 8 others went to ruined castle with Ms Bradley and Ms constantopolous. The snow was great and the sun was warm, but as the clouds rolled in the snow got icy and the weather dropped. Spent most of the time on the ruined castle and south peak before meeting up at a cafe and taking Scott’s lift to the top…Skied down day’s end and followed the roads to the lodge, but the snow had melted a lot and so it was not enjoyable for any of us. It was only when we found out the time that we decided we could go for another run down wombats with Beth and Zoe joining in. Then i had a shower and then a group photo in front of the lodge

20:42  Dinner was roast lamb and veges. After that we had sticky date pudding with ice cream. For once i was waiting for room inspection. Ms. Bradley and Ms. Beadnall walked into our room to find Josh and Kettle hanging on coathangers in the closet and then turned to see me under Richo’s bed asleep and Matt on Josh’s bed…?…The teachers then inspected the bathroom to find Shannon with his pants down on the toilet. They were delighted. A+++ again and we’re going to top ourselves again tomorrow. stay tuned.
